About the Writers

Tom and Mary Frances (MF) have been blessed by a large family, 5 kids in 6.5 years and now 7 grands ages 7 and younger. We have been parents to many international kids, some of whom have made the US home and are family. Kids bookend our lives and everything in between and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We dreamed of a dozen kids and as Physicians, doing Missionary work. We love sharing practical ways to help couples live emotionally healthy lives. We are, in a way, Missionaries to our own culture, learning as we live and liking each other more every day. We couldn’t have done it without our Marriage Encounter Experience 35 years ago. We are the natural greys of TheCouplesPost!

Ken and Janine are best friends who got married 1990. They have 3 grown children. Outside of their “day jobs” (Ken is a Physician Assistant & Janine is a Speech Language Pathologist) they enjoy helping other couples navigate through the hills and valleys of marriage. They do this through various roles in Worldwide Marriage Encounter and writing for The Couples Post. Their favorite things in life are their kids and grandkids, golf, travel, and trying new restaurants.

John and Julie have been happily adventuring together since they met on a blind date in 1990. Whether hiking, biking, backpacking, travelling, camping, or just going for a stroll around the neighborhood, they enjoy experiencing the world around them. They also love exploring and hanging out with their biggest adventures to date – their three (soon to be four) kids. When not out adventuring, John is an IT guy and Julie is a City Councilwoman. In addition to helping engaged couples prepare for marriage, they enjoy presenting Worldwide Marriage Encounter experiences to help married couples make their marriages sparkle.

Chris and Michelle met in 2002. On that first day, Chris told Michelle he would marry her someday. Michelle laughed at the declaration and continued to laugh all the way to the altar in 2005! Whether it is spending time with their daughter, taming their three dogs or traveling, Chris and Michelle tackle life’s adventures with the same joy and enthusiasm. Chris creates custom furniture and wooden masterpieces for clients all over the map while Michelle works with classroom teachers, supporting best educational practices. Chris and Michelle attended a Marriage Encounter Weekend Experience in 2015 and have been passionate about being a part of the ministry ever since.

Nick and Jen met in college and have been married more than 25 years now. Music was the magic that drew them together and continues to be an integral part of their lives. They are enthusiasts for Worldwide Marriage Encounter and the good that it can do for the relationships of married couples, particularly couples trying to balance work responsibility, relationship time, and the needs of five children like they have been doing. Nick is an IT leader and Jen spends her days sharing her passion for reading with middle schoolers. In their spare time, Nick and Jen do music as a family at their church and write for The Couples Post.

Scott and Karen married 40 years ago, blending their two families into one. They have four grown children, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Recognizing that keeping their relationship at the center was key to their success as a family, they decided to attend a Worldwide Marriage Encounter – Experiences for Married Couples (wwme.org) early in their marriage. They spent many years paying it forward by working with engaged and married couples. Today they are both retired from their professional careers and enjoying travelling, golf, and especially spending time with their delightful grandchildren.
